The CBSE board has announced a new curriculum that will be implemented from the 2026–27 academic year. As part of this update, a three-language policy will be introduced for students starting from Class 6. This change is in line with the guidelines of the National Education Policy.
According to the new system, students will learn three languages, out of which at least two must be Indian languages. The main aim of this policy is to improve students understanding of multiple languages and promote linguistic diversity.
The move is expected to help students gain better communication skills and a deeper connection with Indian languages and culture.
