Discrepancies have emerged in the election affidavits submitted by TVK chief Vijay for the two Assembly constituencies he is contesting. In the affidavit filed for the Perambur constituency, he stated that there were no cases against him. However, just three days later, in the nomination submitted for the Tiruchirappalli East constituency, he disclosed that two FIRs had been registered against him.
These conflicting details have raised concerns regarding the accuracy of the documents submitted. As per election regulations, providing false or incomplete information in affidavits is considered a serious violation. In this context, election authorities are likely to initiate a detailed review of the matter.
Given these developments, analysts suggest that there is a possibility of his nomination being rejected. Since transparency is a crucial aspect of the electoral process, the final decision will depend on the findings of the authorities after their examination.
