Air India’s new dress code guidelines have sparked controversy, as the airline has reportedly instructed cabin crew not to wear religious symbols such as sindoor and mangalsutra. The directive has become a subject of widespread discussion.
According to the handbook, cabin crew are not permitted to wear tilak on the forehead, wedding bangles, religious black threads, beads, mangalsutra, necklaces or garlands. It also states that nose rings, anklets, and other ornamental accessories are not allowed, drawing strong criticism.
Notably, a similar set of guidelines issued by Lenskart recently also triggered controversy. Likewise, Air India’s latest decision has now become a matter of intense public debate.
