KTR stated that the Women’s Reservation Bill was defeated in the Lok Sabha due to its linkage with the delimitation issue. He criticized that although other parties were supportive of women’s reservations, it was the BJP’s political approach that led to the bill not being passed. He further noted that if women’s reservations had been implemented within the existing 543 Lok Sabha seats, this issue would not have arisen. He added that the political drama played by the BJP in the name of women’s reservation has been clearly observed by the public across the country.
KTR demanded that a new bill should be introduced to ensure women’s reservations without linking it to delimitation. He strongly alleged that the BJP would be remembered in history as a party that used women for electoral gains and betrayed them. He also remarked that these developments under the guise of women’s empowerment have sparked widespread public debate.
