

An incident in which 11 school girls fell ill after consuming chocolates given by an unidentified person has come to light late in Nandyal district, causing concern among local residents.
According to police, a girl from the Nandikotkur area studies in Class 7 at a government girls’ high school. While she was on her way to school, an unidentified man reportedly gave her a packet of chocolates and asked her to distribute them to teachers and students.
After reaching the school, the girl shared the chocolates with the physical education teacher and several students. Shortly after consuming them, the girls began showing symptoms of illness, including darkening of the eyelids, stomach pain, and vomiting. They were immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Doctors confirmed that the students recovered after receiving medical care. Following the incident, police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Authorities are probing who the unidentified person was, why the girl was targeted, and whether the chocolates contained any harmful substances. As the incident surfaced after a delay, parents and local residents have expressed serious concern.
