The Telangana Civil Supplies Corporation has intensified its crackdown on the illegal storage and transportation of LPG cylinders across the state. Acting on the directives of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, officials have been conducting surprise inspections to curb malpractice. Continuous monitoring is being carried out through a command control system to ensure timely delivery of domestic gas cylinders without inconvenience to consumers.
In the past month alone, vigilance teams seized 5,079 domestic cylinders and 70 small cylinders, worth approximately ₹1.5 crore. A total of 2,089 cases have been registered, and legal action has been initiated against the offenders. The government has urged citizens to report any illegal storage, diversion, or delivery delays by calling the toll-free helpline number 1967.
