The incident that took place at the TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) Nashik office has triggered widespread discussion across the IT industry. Contrary to the common perception that an IT job ensures a stable and stress-free life, this case has brought a disturbing reality to light. The issue began when a woman employee from the Nashik branch filed a complaint at the Devlali police station alleging that her senior had raped her. Following this, eight more employees also came forward with complaints of sexual harassment, taking the total number of complaints to ten, prompting serious attention from the police.
Under the supervision of Nashik City Police Commissioner Sandip Karnik, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed, and a covert operation was carried out involving six women police officers to verify the allegations. In February 2026, they went undercover and joined the TCS BPO office, observing employee behavior for nearly a month. During this period, they recorded the conduct of suspected officials and submitted detailed reports to the commissioner. After gathering sufficient evidence, the police arrested seven employees, including a senior HR manager. Following the arrests, the TCS management responded stating that any form of harassment will not be tolerated. The company also said that immediate action was taken once the matter came to its notice and reiterated that the highest standards of employee safety are being enforced.
