After the success of Mahavatar Narasimha, producer Naga Vamsi announced an ambitious animation film titled ‘Vayuputra’ with Chandoo Mondeti as the director. However, the project is now reportedly on hold. The script had been finalized and pre-production work was underway, with plans to use advanced technologies like animatronics and motion capture. The estimated cost for technology alone was around ₹38 crore, pushing the total budget to ₹50–55 crore or more.
Despite having a strong track record with OTT platforms, the offers for digital rights were reportedly limited to ₹15–20 crore. This created a significant financial risk for the makers, especially in the current uncertain theatrical market. As a result, Naga Vamsi is said to have stepped back from proceeding with the project for now. However, there has been no official confirmation yet, and the project is currently believed to be on hold.
