Noted Telugu film producer and actor Bandla Ganesh has begun a padayatra to Tirumala under the name ‘Sankalpa Yatra’. The journey started on Monday morning from his cinema theatre in Shadnagar, Ranga Reddy district, and is expected to cover a distance of around 460 to 500 kilometres.
Speaking to the media, Ganesh clarified that the yatra is not political in nature and is purely a spiritual vow. He said he is undertaking the walk out of admiration for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and is moving forward with the blessings of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
Ganesh recalled that he entered the film industry with the dream of meeting Megastar Chiranjeevi and chose to begin the yatra while a Chiranjeevi film was being screened at his theatre. He said Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest had deeply disturbed him and that he had regularly visited the Supreme Court during the hearings, praying for his release without any blemish.
He further stated that he had spoken in support of Chandrababu Naidu at KBR Park in Hyderabad along with members of the IT community. Ganesh remarked that Naidu emerged from jail like a lion, inspiring renewed confidence. Fulfilling the vow he made then, Ganesh said this journey represents not just his step, but the step of every Telugu person.
