Bollywood actor Diljit Dosanjh's film 'Satluj' (Punjab 95) has once again landed in controversy. The film, which remained unreleased for nearly four years due to censor issues, premiered in its uncut version on the ZEE5 OTT platform on July 3, 2026. However, just two days after its release, the film was removed from streaming in India, surprising viewers and sparking widespread discussion on social media.
The film is based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, who exposed the disappearance and alleged encounter killings of nearly 25,000 people during the Punjab militancy period in the 1990s. Earlier, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had reportedly sought around 127 cuts for a theatrical release, which the filmmakers did not accept. Responding to the latest development, ZEE5 stated that the film had been temporarily removed due to recent developments and would be made available again soon. The film, however, continues to stream on ZEE5 Global in several international markets.
