Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Minister Sridhar Babu, visited the renowned Ambedkar House in London. The Chief Minister visited the house at 10 King Henry’s Road in Primrose, where Dr. B.R. Ambedkar lived during 1921-22. The historic residence has now been converted into a museum dedicated to Ambedkar’s ideals, reflecting his vision of constitutionalism, equality, an egalitarian society free from caste discrimination and oppression, and social justice. In the visitors’ diary, Revanth Reddy described the visit as similar to visiting a spiritual place and said it had strengthened his resolve to work with greater dedication towards social justice.
During the nearly hour-long visit, Santosh Das MBE, Chair of the Anti-Caste Discrimination Alliance, who played a key role in establishing the Ambedkar Museum, explained various aspects of Ambedkar’s life and legacy in the UK to the Chief Minister. After the visit, Revanth Reddy described it as one of the great moments of his life. He said experiencing the personal side of Dr. Ambedkar’s life and seeing and touching objects associated with him was deeply meaningful.
