TG SAFE officials have intensified inspections at dark stores operated by online grocery delivery companies after identifying violations of food safety regulations. During the inspections, officials found violations of FSSAI labelling and display requirements, along with rodent infestation at some dark stores. A total of 29 food samples were collected on suspicion of adulteration. Four licences were suspended, and orders were issued directing the concerned establishments to immediately stop their business operations.
As part of the inspections, officials issued 12 improvement notices and nine show-cause notices for various violations. TG SAFE is continuing its surveillance of dark stores operated by online grocery delivery companies, focusing on food quality, hygiene, labelling and storage practices. Officials said strict enforcement of food safety regulations is being undertaken to ensure that consumers receive safe and quality food products.
