Filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon expressed happiness after the Madras High Court granted permission for the release of his long-delayed film Dhruva Natchathiram. Sharing an emotional note, he said filmmaking is a collective effort and revealed that some individuals had tried to halt the project and damage his career. He credited his lawyer Abdul Hameed for standing by him during difficult times and thanked Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy for delivering a crucial order that paved the way for the film’s release.
Starring Vikram and Ritu Varma, the film began production in 2016 and was initially slated for release in 2017 but faced repeated delays due to financial hurdles. In 2023, just as preparations were underway for release, a fresh legal dispute emerged. Production company On In Pictures approached the court alleging breach of agreement and non-payment of dues by Menon, seeking a stay on release. However, the court has now allowed the film’s release with its latest order.
