The International Cricket Council released its annual Test rankings on May 1, with Australia men's national cricket team retaining the top position. South Africa national cricket team secured second place, while India national cricket team remained in third. Meanwhile, Pakistan national cricket team climbed one spot to sixth. England and New Zealand occupy the fourth and fifth positions respectively, followed by Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland, Zimbabwe, and Afghanistan from seventh to twelfth.

Australia continued its dominance under the leadership of Pat Cummins, winning 10 out of 12 Tests last year. South Africa’s rise to second is attributed to its World Test Championship success. Despite a modest record of four wins in ten matches, India held onto third place with 104 rating points, staying ahead of England. Pakistan, led by Shan Masood, benefited from reduced weightage of older results to move up. The ICC also released women’s ODI rankings, where Australia leads, followed by England, India, South Africa, and New Zealand.
