Adidas Announces Layoffs at Gurugram Tech Hub

Sportswear giant Adidas has announced job cuts within its Technology organisation in India, with employees at its Gurugram Tech Hub reportedly affected. Software engineers, data scientists and data engineers are among the roles impacted, according to media reports. Adidas said the decision was made to align its operating model with changing business needs, simplify parts of the organisation and strengthen critical capabilities. The company also said it would provide transition assistance to affected employees.

According to media reports, around 350 employees could be affected at the Gurugram hub, which has a workforce of about 700. Adidas has not officially confirmed the reported number. Employees were reportedly informed during a town hall on September 15, with some receiving exit letters the same day. Another group is expected to continue until December 15 to complete handovers and explore other roles within the company. Details of severance packages and notice pay have not been confirmed.
