Commercial LPG cylinder prices have been increased across the country once again, adding to the burden on hotels, restaurants and other businesses. Oil marketing companies have implemented the revised prices from November 1, citing the impact of rising international crude oil prices. The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has increased by Rs. 10, taking the new price to Rs. 2,820. Similarly, commercial LPG prices have gone up by Rs. 17 in Kolkata and Rs. 11.50 in Chennai.
This marks the third consecutive month of price hikes for commercial LPG cylinders. The latest increase has raised concerns among hotel and restaurant owners, who fear that higher cooking fuel costs could eventually lead to an increase in food prices. However, there is some relief for household consumers, as domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged. The impact of the latest revision on the hospitality and food business sectors remains to be seen.
