SA Chandrasekhar, father of actor and TVK leader Vijay, has reacted to the ongoing controversy surrounding the film Jana Nayagan. He said that they were not worried about the delay in the censor certificate or the leak of scenes, as they had already expected such problems. He added that they would have been surprised if the film had released smoothly without any issues.
He also mentioned that Vijay had already informed the producer before starting the project, saying that since he was entering politics, there would likely be obstacles for the film. According to him, Vijay was aware of the possible difficulties. He further alleged that the film was leaked due to political rivalry and said that Vijay chose the people over family when faced with a decision.
The film, directed by H. Vinoth and starring Vijay, was originally planned for release in January but got delayed due to censor certificate issues. Recently, some scenes were leaked online and the movie was also reportedly broadcast on a local channel in Coimbatore, which caused concern in the Tamil film industry. Several suspects involved in the leak have already been arrested.
