Legendary director Mani Ratnam is widely known for his romantic storytelling and exceptional music. Recently, there were multiple speculations regarding his upcoming film, especially about who would compose the music. Reports suggested that young composer Sai Abhyankar might be onboard, which left A.R. Rahman fans slightly disappointed.
However, the latest update has cleared all doubts. Mani Ratnam has once again chosen Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman for his next romantic entertainer. Their collaboration, which began with the 1992 film “Roja,” has successfully continued for over three decades. This upcoming project marks their 19th film together. Fans strongly believe that this combination guarantees chartbuster music, and reports suggest that Rahman has already composed a special song for the film.
The movie stars Vijay Sethupathi as the lead actor, alongside Sai Pallavi as the female lead. This is Vijay Sethupathi’s second collaboration with Mani Ratnam after “Chekka Chivantha Vaanam” (dubbed as “Nawab” in Telugu). He mentioned that working with Mani Ratnam is a great experience and that understanding his fast-paced ideas can be challenging yet exciting.
With Sai Pallavi’s natural acting and Mani Ratnam’s signature filmmaking style, analysts expect a magical cinematic experience. The film is currently in the pre-production stage, and the title has not yet been finalized. It is being produced under Mani Ratnam’s banner “Madras Talkies.” If everything goes as planned, shooting is expected to begin in July this year. The combination of Mani Ratnam’s visuals, Rahman’s music, and strong performances has already created significant excitement among audiences.
