Star Heroes Gear Up for a Big Sankranti Box Office Battle

Sankranti is one of the most important box-office seasons for the Telugu and Tamil film industries, and the race for 2027 is already generating considerable buzz. Several big-budget productions and mid-range films are reportedly preparing for a festive release, with combined box-office business across the two industries estimated to potentially touch ₹1,000 crore. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film ‘Kaka’, directed by Bobby Kolli, is among the projects being lined up for the season. Director Anil Ravipudi has also reportedly locked January 12 for the release of his next film, adding to the growing competition.

Sai Durgha Tej’s period action drama ‘Sambarala Yeti Gattu’ and ‘Mahakali’, from Prasanth Varma’s Cinematic Universe, are also reportedly targeting the festive season. The lineup further includes ‘George Krishna’, featuring Sharwanand and directed by Sreenu Vaitla, and ‘Family Pack’, a family entertainer starring Sree Vishnu. With films featuring established stars as well as young actors entering the race, Sankranti 2027 is shaping up to be a major box-office contest. However, official confirmation of the release schedules is awaited for several of these projects.
