Hollywood actress Emilia Clarke has once again spoken about surviving two brain aneurysms during her twenties. A brain aneurysm occurs when a weakened blood vessel in the brain bulges outward like a balloon. While small aneurysms may not show symptoms, a rupture can cause serious brain bleeding and become life-threatening. Clarke underwent emergency surgeries on both occasions and later recovered successfully.
Medical experts say that high blood pressure, smoking, alcohol consumption, ageing, and family history can increase the risk of brain aneurysms. Symptoms such as sudden severe headache, blurred vision, vomiting, neck stiffness, seizures, or loss of consciousness require immediate medical attention. Diagnosis is usually done through CT scans, MRI scans, or cerebral angiography, followed by appropriate treatment based on the severity of the condition.
