Punjab Kings, who started the season strongly with impressive victories, are now struggling after suffering four consecutive defeats. Their playoff chances have become complicated, leading to heavy criticism on social media. Reports claiming a lack of discipline and coordination among players have gone viral in recent days. Reacting strongly to these allegations, Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta warned against spreading false narratives about the team and players.
Preity Zinta stated that the franchise welcomes healthy criticism and discussions about the game, but it will not tolerate baseless rumors that damage the reputation of players and the team. Punjab Kings also released a statement saying that creating fake stories for popularity is against the spirit of sports. Recently, visuals of Chahal allegedly using an e-cigarette on a flight went viral, while criticism also emerged against captain Shreyas Iyer for not using Chahal in the match against Delhi. At the same time, discussions about opener Prabhsimran Singh’s fitness added more pressure on the franchise.
