BJP Telangana State President N. Ramchander Rao was reportedly placed under house arrest by police at his residence in Tarnaka, preventing him from visiting the Ramanthapur Polytechnic College. Reacting strongly to the action, Ramchander Rao accused the Congress government of weakening the education system and attempting to hand over valuable institutional land for real estate interests. He alleged that Government Order 97 was being used as a pretext to shut down polytechnic colleges and target their prime land.
Ramchander Rao also criticised the government over its alleged failure to fulfil the ₹1,000-crore funding promise made to universities. He claimed that the government was struggling to pay salaries and pensions to teachers on time. He asserted that the BJP’s fight to protect the education system would continue despite possible arrests or cases under the PD Act. He also challenged Rahul Gandhi to focus on Telangana and question Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government instead of engaging in political activities in NDA-ruled states.
