Tragedy During Ganesh Immersion...Six Students Dead

A tragic incident occurred during Ganesh idol immersion at Pedda Kanjarla village in Patancheru mandal of Sangareddy district. Six students drowned after entering Nereducheruvu for the immersion. The deceased were identified as Narsimha Raju, Sumanth, Ganesh, Uday Kiran, Shyam Kumar and Siddharth. Sumanth and Ganesh were pursuing the second year of a diploma, Uday Kiran was in the third year, Shyam Kumar was in the first year, while Siddharth was a Class 10 student. All six were identified as students of the Shirisha Charitable Trust.

State Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka expressed deep shock and grief over the incident. She conveyed her condolences to the bereaved families and spoke to the Sangareddy district Collector over the phone to obtain details about the incident, relief measures and assistance being provided to the affected families. She directed officials to coordinate necessary support and strengthen safety measures for children. Officials were also instructed to take preventive measures at immersion locations to ensure that children do not approach potentially dangerous water bodies.
