A theft took place at the Narasimha Swamy temple under the limits of a local police station around two and a half years ago. Silver ornaments belonging to the deity, along with puja materials, were stolen during the midnight incident. On Wednesday evening, a bag was found on the temple premises. When the temple priest noticed and opened it, he found the silver ornaments that had gone missing nearly two years earlier.
A letter was reportedly found along with the ornaments. In the letter, the person claimed that the theft was committed while he was intoxicated and had lost consciousness. He said he had realised his mistake after all these years and was returning the deity’s belongings. The unexpected return of the stolen temple property has drawn attention among locals.
