Supreme Court Adjourns Hearing on Election Commission’s Functioning

The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing in a case concerning the functioning of the Election Commission of India (ECI). The bench has scheduled the next hearing for November 17 and issued fresh notices to the election body. During the proceedings, the court also gave the petitioners an opportunity to respond to the affidavit submitted by the ECI.

The Supreme Court granted the petitioners ten days to file a rejoinder to the ECI’s affidavit. The petitioners have been asked to submit their response within the stipulated period. During the next hearing, the bench is expected to consider the submissions made by the petitioners and the Election Commission. Further details regarding the specific issues raised in the case are awaited.
