Weather conditions in Machilipatnam, Krishna district, changed suddenly as the impact of a cyclone brought cloudy skies and cooler conditions after a hot morning. With weather officials warning of a possible intensification of the cyclone’s effects, the district administration has stepped up precautionary measures. District Collector Balaji has instructed grocery shops and other commercial establishments in Machilipatnam to close from 4 PM. Residents have been advised to stay inside safe buildings and avoid going outdoors unless absolutely necessary.
Authorities have also warned fishermen not to venture into the sea and are using public announcements to spread safety information in coastal areas. Officials have been directed to arrange rehabilitation centres wherever necessary and ensure coordination among the revenue, municipal, police and fire safety departments to respond promptly to emergencies. Police have restricted access roads around Manginapudi Beach to prevent tourists and visitors from entering the area, while patrols continue along the coastline. Residents are urged to remain alert, follow official instructions and prioritise their safety.
