Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) unearthed massive unaccounted wealth during raids on the residence and properties linked to Telangana Survey, Settlement and Land Records Multi Zone-2 Deputy Director Narahari Rao. Acting on allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to known sources of income, ACB teams simultaneously conducted searches at 12 locations, including his residence in Chatrinaka, Hyderabad. During the operation, officials discovered ₹1.54 crore in cash hidden inside five bags kept in a cupboard above a wardrobe. The seizure is said to be one of the largest cash recoveries in a disproportionate assets case in ACB history.
Further investigations revealed assets with an official value of ₹13.05 crore, while their current market value is estimated to exceed ₹100 crore. The raids also uncovered 1.3 kilograms of gold ornaments, 8 kilograms of silver articles, bank deposits worth ₹2.29 crore, and fixed deposits totaling ₹5.04 crore. Multiple flats, residential buildings, agricultural land, and open plots across Hyderabad and Rangareddy district were identified. ACB officials also traced two bank lockers in the name of his wife and are expected to examine them. Narahari Rao was arrested following the searches and is scheduled to be produced before a court.
