Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders in Saudi Arabia organised the ‘Truth Won, Justice Stood’ programme in protest against the arrest and 53 day imprisonment of then Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu three years ago. Following a call by party national general secretary Nara Lokesh, TDP leaders Jani Basha and Rajasekhar led the programme in Riyadh on Wednesday night, lighting 53 candles as a mark of protest.
Speaking on the occasion, the TDP leaders said Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest had remained a dark chapter in the history of Andhra Pradesh. Party leaders Chennupati Naresh, Gutta Venkata Rao, Satya Srinivas, Muzzammil Sheikh and Pokuri Anand, among others, participated in the programme.
