

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan said that the sacrifices and struggles of several great personalities played a significant role in Hyderabad becoming an integral part of India. He was the chief guest at the Telangana Liberation Day celebrations organised by the Central Government at Secunderabad Parade Ground. He first paid tributes at the Police Martyrs Memorial, unfurled the national flag and later paid floral tributes to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Radhakrishnan paid homage to the warriors who fought for the liberation of Hyderabad and said their struggles and sacrifices would continue to inspire future generations. Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, along with several public representatives, attended the event. The Vice President also received a ceremonial guard of honour. Telangana folk art forms and tableaux depicting the Thousand Pillar Temple, Bathukamma and other cultural themes were showcased during the celebrations.
