Environmentalist, innovator, and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk has continued his indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, with the protest entering its 15th day. Wangchuk has been demanding stronger measures for the protection of Ladakh's fragile environment and has urged the government to address the concerns raised by local communities. His prolonged fast has drawn widespread attention from supporters and civil society groups.
Student organisations, environmental activists, and several supporters have expressed concern over the lack of a breakthrough in the discussions so far. Protesters have called on the government to initiate meaningful dialogue and respond to the demands at the earliest. The ongoing protest has intensified public debate over environmental conservation, democratic engagement, and the need for timely resolution through discussions.
