

A large-scale anti-terror mock drill was successfully conducted at Madhavanilayam in Tirumala by the Andhra Pradesh OCTOPUS force in coordination with the local police. The exercise was carried out with the approval of the TTD Executive Officer, Chairman and Chief Vigilance & Security Officer (CVSO). The simulated scenario involved terrorists infiltrating the premises, opening fire on pilgrims and staff, and taking several people hostage.
In response, OCTOPUS commandos, local police, Fire Services, Medical, Traffic and SPF teams launched a coordinated rescue operation, successfully securing the hostages during the exercise. The drill was supervised by OCTOPUS Charlie Team DSP B. Rambabu, with active participation from TTD Vigilance personnel. Officials stated that the primary objective of the exercise was to strengthen inter-departmental coordination, assess emergency response capabilities and enhance pilgrim security preparedness.
