Telangana has achieved a major milestone by securing Amazon Web Services’ largest data centre project in India. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the ₹60,000 crore facility at Bharat Future City near Hyderabad. This ambitious project is part of Amazon’s $13 billion investment plan in India. The first phase is expected to become operational within 24 months, while the remaining development will be completed over the next decade. The project spans 202 acres in Bharat Future City and 98 acres in Chandanvelly, supported by incentives worth ₹125 crore.
The upcoming data centre will provide customers access to advanced AI technologies, including custom AI chips and managed AI services. This development further strengthens Hyderabad’s reputation as India’s leading hub for digital infrastructure and cloud computing. The announcement follows recent developments such as Google’s plan to establish a large-scale AI hub and data centre in Visakhapatnam, highlighting the growing competition among cities to become technology powerhouses. Telangana’s latest achievement reinforces its position as a key player in India’s digital growth story.
