Key Changes in NEET-UG

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is moving rapidly towards a major overhaul of the NEET-UG examination system, which came under intense scrutiny following the paper-leak controversy. NTA Director General Abhishek Singh said preparations have been completed to shift the medical entrance examination from the traditional pen-and-paper format to a computer-based test (CBT) mode. A high-powered task force headed by Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani is working on the plan for the proposed transition.

Meanwhile, the NTA has shifted its headquarters from Okhla in South Delhi to the fifth floor of the Government of India Press Building on Minto Road in Central Delhi. The relocation comes at a time when the agency is undertaking reforms in its examination procedures and strengthening security measures. The proposed move to CBT is part of the broader efforts to improve the examination system and enhance security and transparency.
