

According to the latest report released by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), Andhra Pradesh spent ₹23,321.38 crore during April, the first month of the current financial year. The state generated ₹12,510 crore as revenue while mobilising ₹10,901.21 crore through borrowings. The report stated that only 5% of the estimated annual revenue was achieved in the first month, while 7.65% of the projected annual expenditure was already utilised.
The state recorded a revenue deficit of ₹10,277 crore in April itself, highlighting growing financial pressure. Revenue receipts stood at ₹12,510 crore, whereas revenue expenditure touched ₹22,787.95 crore. Andhra Pradesh’s own revenue collections were around ₹12,086 crore, and the report noted that the absence of central government grants significantly affected the overall revenue inflow during the month.
