To improve food quality and hygiene, IRCTC has introduced advanced Artificial Intelligence-based monitoring systems in more than 800 railway kitchens across the country. A total of 2,394 smart AI cameras have been installed to monitor food preparation processes in real time. These systems can detect hygiene violations such as the absence of gloves or head covers, as well as the presence of insects, rodents, and other contaminants. The AI-powered network generates alerts within minutes, enabling authorities to take corrective action quickly and ensure safer meals for millions of railway passengers.
