Hyderabad Metro Passenger Information System Faces Glitches

The passenger information system (PIS) in Hyderabad Metro trains has reportedly been experiencing glitches, leaving commuters dissatisfied with the accuracy of real-time updates. The system, operated from the Operations Control Centre at Uppal Depot, provides passengers with information such as the next station through audio announcements and displays details on screens inside trains and at stations. It is integrated with signalling and track systems to provide real-time train information.

Commuters have recently reported discrepancies in the information displayed on metro screens. In one instance, while a train was at Musapet Metro Station, the display reportedly showed Malakpet, causing confusion among passengers. Similar concerns have been raised about train arrival information at stations, with commuters saying that trains sometimes arrive earlier or later than the time shown on the display boards.
