A nine year old boy in the US reportedly spent a huge amount on YouTube advertisements using his father’s credit card after becoming frustrated over low views on his channel. The boy, identified as Mike, uploaded gaming videos featuring Minecraft and Roblox but was disappointed by the lack of views. His father, Dave, had earlier shown him how to run a YouTube advertising campaign to promote the channel, using a credit card as part of the demonstration.
After watching the demonstration, the boy reportedly began running advertising campaigns on his own in an attempt to increase views. Over three weeks, he spent around Rs 1.13 crore on advertisements using his father’s credit card. The issue came to light when Dave’s company called him to the office and showed him the massive credit card bill. Dave said he had no idea what his son had done and was now uncertain whether the company would ask him to repay the bill or leave his job. He also said the boy’s YouTube channel could be suspended for some time.
