The Congress on September 9 alleged that more than Rs 10,000 crore in black money was generated through 3,260 Registered Unrecognised Political Parties (RUPPs), which were allegedly used as conduits for taxcdeductible donations. According to the party, commissions ranging from 2% to 15% were deducted from the donations before the remaining cash was returned to the donors.
Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil demanded a probe by a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) into the alleged network. He also questioned why the government had not taken action despite existing provisions for imposing penalties. The Congress sought a detailed investigation into the allegations and accountability for those involved.
