The Union Health Ministry conducted a high-level review meeting on Ebola preparedness and precautionary measures across the country. The Centre clarified that there is currently no Ebola threat in India but stated that preventive steps are being strengthened to avoid any possible risk. Authorities have intensified screening procedures at airports and instructed officials to strictly implement quarantine protocols for passengers arriving from affected regions. Surveillance systems at international entry points and border areas have also been placed on high alert as a precautionary measure.
The Health Ministry is closely monitoring laboratory testing facilities, hospital preparedness, and emergency response systems to ensure rapid containment in case of any suspected infection. Officials have been directed to maintain strict coordination between state health departments, airports, and medical institutions. The Centre emphasized that robust preventive measures are already in place and urged the public not to panic. Enhanced monitoring and rapid response mechanisms are expected to strengthen India’s readiness against any potential spread of the Ebola virus.
