The Andhra Pradesh government has announced relief for its employees and pensioners by releasing two Dearness Allowance (DA) hikes. The Finance Department has issued orders to implement a 1.82 per cent DA hike with effect from January 1, 2025, and a 2.73 per cent DA hike from July 1, 2024. The revised DA amounts will be paid along with the salaries for September, providing immediate relief to employees and pensioners.
The government has also announced the schedule for payment of DA arrears. The arrears related to the 1.82 per cent DA, covering 20 months, will be deposited in instalments in January, March, May and July 2028. Similarly, arrears for the 2.73 per cent DA, covering 26 months, will be credited in April, June, August and October 2027. The decision is expected to provide financial relief to a large number of government employees and pensioners in the state.
