

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials conducted raids at the Chevella Sub-Treasury Office in Rangareddy district following a complaint alleging a demand for a ₹2.50 lakh bribe from a retired panchayat secretary. The complaint named STO officer M. Laxman and Assistant STO officer K. Anuradha in connection with the alleged demand, officials said.
Based on the complaint, ACB officials carried out a trap operation at the office and reportedly caught the accused while accepting ₹1 lakh from the complainant. According to the ACB, Laxman allegedly received ₹50,000 and Anuradha another ₹50,000. Officials said Anuradha allegedly collected her share through Jangaiah alias Chinna, whom she had personally engaged. The officials were taken into custody and are being questioned at the Chevella ACP office, ACB DSP Anand Kumar said. Searches were also being conducted at their residences, while the complainant’s identity has been kept confidential.
