Amid growing criticism over the US administration's approach to Iran and its tensions with other countries, several surveys indicate that a significant section of Americans disapprove of President Donald Trump. Responding to the political situation, Trump warned that he could become “Mr. Veto” if Democrats win a majority in the upcoming midterm elections and gain control of Congress. He said he would reject bills passed by Democrats to restrict their authority and predicted that they would eventually approach him for negotiations. Trump also claimed that the US economy had become the best in history under his leadership and expressed dissatisfaction with surveys that, according to him, underestimate Republican support. He further said he would be willing to run for president again, although he acknowledged that constitutional restrictions could prevent him from doing so.
Trump also claimed that the US was better at conducting espionage against its rivals than China and Russia. Referring to intelligence briefings, he said China and Russia were spying on American military bases, while Washington was also keeping a close watch on Beijing and Moscow. Meanwhile, the geopolitical tensions involving Iran remain a major concern. According to reports, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged Trump to launch attacks against Iran immediately after the US midterm elections. However, Trump said he preferred continuing peace negotiations with Tehran in an effort to reach an agreement. The two leaders reportedly discussed the issue over a phone call on Saturday.
