The BJP is stepping up its political outreach in Telangana, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah set to lead a mega padyatra in Hyderabad. The march is scheduled to begin at 3 PM on Monday near the Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram statue opposite Nizam College in Basheerbagh. It will proceed through Abids and conclude at MJ Market at around 6 PM. The programme is part of the party’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Telangana and other southern states.
Several prominent BJP leaders are expected to participate, including Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao, state in-charge Sunil Bansal, and several MPs, MLAs and MLCs. The party is also planning to involve professionals, doctors, lawyers, intellectuals and members of different communities. According to BJP leaders, the main objective is to counter Congress’s campaign, particularly its criticism of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Amit Shah is also expected to provide strategic guidance to party leaders as the BJP prepares for the 2028 Telangana Assembly elections.
