A key step has been taken towards the development of Warangal’s Mamunur Airport, with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) inviting tenders for works estimated at ₹213.59 crore. The project includes construction of a new domestic terminal building, an ATC tower-cum-technical block, a fire station, an E&M workshop and other associated works.

The tender was published on September 14, 2026, with November 3, 2026 set as the deadline for bid submission. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for September 28. The construction work is expected to be completed within 18 months. The Telangana government and the Union Civil Aviation Ministry have also discussed expediting the development of Mamunur Airport.
