E-commerce giant Amazon has announced plans to expand its quick commerce service ‘Amazon Now’ to 100 cities across India, including Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Pune, Chennai, and Kolkata. However, the company has not disclosed a timeline for completing this expansion. Currently, the service is available in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. This move is part of Amazon India’s recently announced investment of ₹2,800 crore aimed at strengthening its quick commerce operations.
According to Harsh Goyal, Vice President of Amazon India Everyday Essentials, this expansion will also benefit farmers. More than 16,000 farmers will be able to directly sell their fresh produce to consumers using Amazon’s technology and logistics network. The initiative is expected to enhance accessibility, improve supply chains, and boost the reach of fresh products across urban markets.
