Meta and Arm have announced a partnership to develop a new class of CPUs designed for heavy AI workloads. These processors are aimed at data centres and large scale AI deployments, and will not be available for regular consumers. The collaboration focuses on building multiple generations of high-performance chipsets to meet growing computational demands.
The first outcome of this partnership is the Arm AGI CPU, built on the Arm Neoverse platform. It features a dual chiplet design with integrated memory and input-output components, offering fast performance and low latency. The processor supports high memory capacity and speed, making it suitable for handling complex AI tasks efficiently in large data centres.
Meta will act as both a co developer and primary user of these CPUs, integrating them with its existing AI infrastructure. The company also plans to share hardware designs through open platforms to support broader adoption. Meanwhile, Arm’s technology continues to power major AI and cloud platforms, strengthening its role in the global AI ecosystem.
