The Telangana Employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) has decided to launch another phase of its agitation, demanding the immediate release of pending Pay Revision Commission (PRC) benefits and Dearness Allowance (DA). The JAC also called for the abolition of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). It announced that September 1 would be observed as CPS Protest Day, followed by a ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ programme on September 6.
At a meeting with constituent organisations in Hyderabad, JAC Chairman V. Lachireddy and Secretary General Vodnala Rajasekhar discussed employees’ issues, pending demands and the future course of action. The JAC called on employees across Telangana to wear black badges and hold protests outside government offices on September 1. It also announced a massive employees’ convention at the Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad.
