Maranello, Italy : Ferrari has unveiled the technology behind its first-ever electric car, named Elettrica, which is set to hit the roads next year. The Italian luxury carmaker, however, announced a more cautious approach toward electrification by dialing down its 2030 EV goals. At its Maranello headquarters, Ferrari showcased the production-ready chassis of the Elettrica — featuring an advanced battery pack and electric motors, though the outer body is yet to be revealed. The car is being fully developed in-house at Ferrari’s new “e-building” facility. While the Elettrica marks a major step toward the electric era, Ferrari said petrol and hybrid models will continue to play a major role in its portfolio until 2030.
The new strategy envisions a 40% internal combustion, 40% hybrid, and 20% fully-electric lineup by 2030 — a shift from its earlier 2022 target that aimed for 40% EVs.Ferrari also revealed plans to launch four new models each year between 2026 and 2030 to sustain customer enthusiasm and expand its elite client base
“With the new Ferrari Elettrica, we once again affirm our will to progress by uniting technology, design, and craftsmanship,”
said Ferrari Chairman John Elkann. The company further announced an expansion of its lifestyle segment, with new flagship stores planned in London and New York by 2026, and new Tailor Made centres in Tokyo and Los Angeles by 2027. These initiatives aim to strengthen Ferrari’s connection with customers and fans worldwide.Ferrari’s active customer base has reportedly grown 20% since 2022, reaching about 90,000 clients globally.
