Several YouTube Music users are reporting an increase in AI-generated songs appearing in their Explore page and recommended playlists. Users say the platform’s algorithm is heavily promoting these synthetic tracks and that using “Not Interested” or disliking them does not reduce their appearance.
According to reports on Reddit, the lack of labels or disclaimers identifying AI-generated songs has made it difficult for users to recognize them before listening. Many complain that these tracks are low-quality and are interfering with discovering real artists. Similar issues are also being noticed on Spotify and Amazon Music.
AI music has grown rapidly due to tools like Suno and Udio, which allow users to create songs easily using text prompts. Users say common signs of AI music include frequent song uploads, generic cover art, very few listeners and no online presence of the artist. The growing presence of AI-generated music comes as major music labels continue legal battles against AI companies over the use of copyrighted material for training AI models.
