

The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is all set to launch the inaugural season of the TG20 Cricket League, aimed at identifying and promoting talented young cricketers from across Telangana. The tournament will begin on Sunday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad. Actor Vijay Deverakonda has been named the league’s brand ambassador, while Srinidhi University will serve as the title sponsor. The league stage will conclude on July 7, followed by playoffs from July 9, with the grand final scheduled for July 12. The opening ceremony, featuring music director S.S. Thaman, will take place on June 21 at 5:30 PM, followed by the opening match between Palamuru Strikers and Anvitha Khammam Aces.
Speaking at a media interaction, TG20 League Chairman Agam Rao said the tournament will follow an IPL-style format, except for the Impact Player rule. All matches will be broadcast live on Star Sports Network and JioHotstar. Ticket prices have been fixed at ₹50, while select premium tickets will cost ₹100. ETV Bharat Director Brhati emphasized that the league aims to provide a platform for talented rural cricketers to showcase their skills and pursue higher achievements. The winning team will receive a prize of ₹1 crore, while the runners-up will earn ₹50 lakh. Teams finishing third and fourth will receive ₹25 lakh each.
